Prof. Mohit Verma is a practicing architect and urban planner for the last 20 years with a
core specialisation in the field of disaster resilient planning and sustainable design. He is
the founder of an architecture and disaster research NGO, Archade Foundation, New
Delhi. He graduated from TVB School of Habitat Studies and completed his post
graduation in Ekistics from Jamia Millia Islamia. He has been teaching as Visiting
Professor at School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, Dept. of Architecture Jamia
Millia Islamia, Sushant School of Art and Architecture and at USAP, Guru Gobind Singh
Indraprasth University for over a decade and a half.
He has been designing and conducting courses and workshops for design students,
engineers and professional architects for disaster awareness, preparedness, mitigation
and response. He has led a team of experts in post disaster shelter design and building
structures at Nepal, Uttarakhand, Chennai, Kashmir, Orrisa and Kerala.
He is an advisor to various government and non government organisations with a focus
on training and engaging architects, planners and institutions in disaster risk reduction,
climate change adaptation, improvisation and creative response to calamities, post
disaster shelter and housing.
