LOLITA DUTTA
Lolita Dutta is one of India’s most respected voices in communication and exhibition design, with a career spanning over 40 years in professional practice and more than three decades in design education and academic leadership. A postgraduate in Communication Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, Lolita has contributed to the evolution of Indian design through a body of work that includes large-format exhibitions, museum and pavilion designs, and visual communication projects for the Government of India, including landmark national campaigns and international expos. She has also worked closely with diplomatic missions, ministries, PSUs, and NGOs, crafting narratives that blend design sensitivity with public purpose.
As an academic, Lolita has served in senior positions at some of India’s leading design institutions—mentoring generations of students and young professionals. Her roles have included curriculum development, faculty mentoring, institutional strategy, and academic governance. Known for her clarity of vision and rigor in design education, she has played a formative role in shaping the design sensibilities of contemporary India.
