BPA Theatre
Theatre is one of the oldest forms of human expression — a space for storytelling, performance, and social transformation. The BPA Theatre program at WUD’s School of Performing Arts equips students with the artistic, technical, and intellectual foundations to thrive in both traditional and contemporary theatre, while also engaging with today’s creative industries.
The program combines acting, stagecraft, directing, dramaturgy, and performance traditions with training in theatre history, cultural studies, and critical theory. Students explore both classical and folk theatre forms alongside contemporary practices, devised performance, and digital/immersive theatre, ensuring they are rooted in heritage yet prepared for future possibilities. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, experimentation, and sustainability, with students working on live productions, workshops, and community-based projects.
Technology plays a key role — students gain experience in lighting, sound, set design, digital scenography, and hybrid performance tools that expand theatrical storytelling. Guided by accomplished theatre practitioners, students develop their own artistic voice, critical thinking, and the confidence to perform and create across diverse contexts.

Career outcomes:Graduates can pursue careers as actors, directors, playwrights, stage/production designers, dramaturgs, theatre educators, art administrators, critics, or community theatre leaders. Opportunities also exist in film, television, digital media, advertising, events, arts management, and applied theatre (therapy, education, social change). With India’s expanding cultural industries and global collaborations, this program offers both creative fulfillment and sustainable career pathways.
